Spring is in the air, the flowers are in bloom, and a girl can’t seem to keep her eyes off her phone. When she does indeed take the time to experience her beautiful surroundings, she can’t help but smile.
Footage was filmed on Queens College’s campus and camera tracks were created in Cinema 4D. With each scene, 3D typography and objects were created/modified and animated to simulate their inclusion in the environment.
Every designer needs to advertise themselves, and what better way to make a statement than with 3D technology? I had the 2 dimensional logo, I just needed to bring it to life.
I had such fun building each asset in Cinema 4D and animating this sequence. Getting the lighting just right was an important aspect of this project, as it needed to showcase the setting in a warm and inviting way. I wanted to illustrate my fun, spunky side, as well as my whimsical, imaginative state.

Mary loves Johnny, and Johnny loves…running around. let’s just say he’s neglecting his marriage. I always adore the Robert Palmer song “Johnny & Mary,” and felt there was a beautifully tragic story to showcase. When I heard Bryan Ferry’s remake and its haunting tone, I knew I had to animate the heartbreak.
Each scene was illustrated in Adobe Illustrator, edited for lighting, effects, and color in Photoshop, and then animated in After Effects. This was such a challenging and rewarding project, for it pushed my animation skills and allowed me to explore character emotions.
